About Alyssa Hua

Alyssa Hua spent her early childhood years in San Leandro, CA before her family moved to Modesto, CA.  She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Saint Mary’s College of California (SMC) in May of 2013.  Before coming to UC Merced, Alyssa was working with her undergraduate research mentor, Dr. Bachofer and also held a part-time position at SMC as an interim stockroom manager for the Chemistry Department.  If she is not working in lab, Alyssa can be found doing her favorite activity: sleeping!  She also enjoys occasional hikes in Yosemite and dabbling in photography.  Fun fact: she has a twin sister! (Who she eventually convinced to come join The Baxter Lab as a volunteer research assistant!)
